Access to Manufacturing Connect
There are multiple methods to log in to Manufacturing Connect, along with different aspects of the Manufacturing Connect to access. The following methods and aspects of Manufacturing Connect are available to log in to:
- Access the Manufacturing Connect User UI
- Access the Terminal User Interface (TUI)
- Access the Manufacturing Connect Admin Console
- Access Keycloak
You must change your password when you log in to the Manufacturing Connect software for the first time.
In some cases, you may want to use the Terminal User Interface (TUI) when you don't have access to a network system. In this case, you can locally connect your keyboard and monitor to the Manufacturing Connect system and you should be able to access and configure some of the network systems.
The initial user name and password is set up to create a local user name and password for the user.
Manufacturing Connect uses a self-signed certificate. This prompts the browser to display an error message. Follow the browser guidelines for how to bypass a self-signed security error message. See Browser Access Restrictions for more information.
- To access the software, you must use Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Apple Safari. The browser must be connected to the same network as the software and devices.
- Make sure your personal computing device is able to establish network communication through routing even if it is not connected to the same network.
- Make sure you have noted the IP address from the VM during installation.
To log in to Manufacturing Connect:
- From a browser, enter the application URL: https://[domain-name] (domain-name is on of the parameters the installation script outputs). See Install / Upgrade Manufacturing Connect (MC) for details. The login screen appears.
Retrieve Manufacturing Connect login credentials from its Application details page within Google Kubernetes Engine.
- Enter the retrieved login credentials from above.
- Click Submit. The Update password screen appears, which prompts you to reset the generic password to your own password.
- Enter the new password and click Submit. You are logged into Manufacturing Connect.
- Access the Admin Console, which is installed as part of the Manufacturing Connect package, and proceed to Activate the License Server.
Notes:
- From now on, you log into Manufacturing Connect with your new password.
- Do not forget your password. For security reasons, there is no password recovery. If you lose the administrator password, you must reinstall.
- You can reset your password at any time.
- You can access the software as long as your browser is on the same network as the software and device, even if you do not have an Internet connection.
Manufacturing Connect Admin Console is installed as part of the Manufacturing Connect package. You use the Admin Console to activate the Manufacturing Connect license server, manage users, templates, etc. For details, see the Manufacturing Connect Admin Console.
There are two ways to access Manufacturing Connect Admin Console:
- Access from within Manufacturing Connect
- Access as an independent application
Note: Only admin users have the permissions to use the Manufacturing Connect Admin Console.
- Log into the Manufacturing Connect Web User UI. See Access Web User UI from above.
- From the navigation panel, select Admin Console.
- If prompted, enter your admin user credentials. The Admin Console UI appears in a separate browser tab.
- Open a web browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Apple Safari) that is connected to the same network as the software and devices.
- In your browser, enter the Manufacturing Connect Admin Console URL: https://[domain-name]/admin-ui, (domain-name is on of the parameters the installation script outputs). The log in screen appears.

- Enter the retrieved login credentials from above.
- Click Submit. The Admin Console UI appears.

To log in to Keycloak:
- From a browser, enter the host IP address followed by /auth/admin. For example: https://xxx.xxx.2.18/auth/admin. The login screen appears.
Retrieve the Manufacturing Connect login credentials from its Application details page within Google Kubernetes Engine.
- Enter the retrieved login credentials from above.
- Click Login. You are prompted to reset the password to your own password after the first successful log in. Manufacturing Connect Keycloak opens in another browser tab. The Realm Settings pane appears by default.
