To set up and configure this device in Manufacturing Connect Edge, you will need to do the following:
- Step 1: Set up and Configure the PLC Device
- Step 2: Set up the PLC Device in Manufacturing Connect Edge DeviceHub
- Step 3: Configure the List of Registers
If the device is configured for Ethernet access, find its network parameters. Otherwise, follow the steps below.
To configure your device:
1. Note down the following information and refer to it as needed. Device: Allen Bradley Communication I/F: Ethernet. Refer to the following figures.
2. Connect the device to your PC with Serial Port 25-pin D-shell cable.
3. Launch RXLinx Classic, click the Configure driver icon, and add an RS232 DF1 device driver.
4. Configure the driver as follows, and then click Auto Configure.
5. Launch RSLogix 5 pro v8.00, and then click Comm > Who Active Go Online.
6. Find the device to be connected, and click Online.
7. Check communication settings in Channel Configuration. Use Channel 1.
8. Use Channel 3A to set up the IP Address.
9. List the data types that the PLC supports.
