You can test connectivity to a host name or an IP address that belongs to the network where your edge device resides by navigating to **DeviceHub **>** Utilities **and referring to the *Test IP Address* section.

**To test connectivity**:

1. Navigate to **DeviceHub **> **Utilities**. 
2. From the *Test IP Address* section of the *Utilities *pane, enter a host name or an IP address to test in the **Hostname or IP** field.
3. In the **Count **field, enter the number to packets to send (the default is 4).
4. In the **Timeout **field, enter the response timeout in seconds (the default is 60).
5. Click **Test Address**.
   If the selected IP address is accessible, the testing stats per packet show at the bottom of the Test IP Address section.

If the selected IP address is not accessible, only the initial ping shows:

To stop the process before all of the transmitted packets are either received or timed out, click **Cancel**.
