From the *Activation* pane, you can do the following:

- Activate the Manufacturing Connect Edge device with Manufacturing Connect. See [Activate an Edge Device](docId\:M2dU1twvNe9kZ1he-r222) to learn more. 
- From the *License *tab, you can:
  - Configure a license server. 
  - Manage node-locked licenses for the Manufacturing Connect Edge device. 
  - View the current Manufacturing Connect Edge version and License ID.
  - View the currently installed modules in the Manufacturing Connect Edge device. 

Activating your Manufacturing Connect Edge device does the following:

- Creates a connection to communicate with Manufacturing Connect. 
- Creates a default SSL connector in Integration.
- Adds a Custom CA certificate for Manufacturing Connect.
- Configures a Manufacturing Connect Edge so you can have remote access to the Manufacturing Connect Edge device from Manufacturing Connect

# Access Activation UI

From the Manufacturing Connect Edge navigation panel, navigate to **System **> **Activation**.
