You can add a database user by navigating to **DataHub **> **DB Users**.

:::hint{type="warning"}
**Important**: Influx uses admin, user, and observer as default users. You cannot use these usernames when creating a new user. Therefore, you can add users using their username when creating a db user.

**To add a database user:**

1. Navigate to **DataHub ***> ***DB Users**. 
2. Click the **Add** (**+**) icon.
   The *Add User* dialog box appears.

3. Enter the details for the user. 
   - **Username**
   - **Password**
   - **Database**: Select a database from the drop-down list.
   - **Privilege**: Select an access option (Read, Write, or All).
4. (Optional) Click the **Plus** (**+**) icon to select another database and privilege, and repeat if necessary. You can remove a privilege row by clicking the **Trash **icon next to the row you want to remove.
5.  Click **Add User**.
   The user appears in the *DB Users *pane with the listed privileges.

**Note**: Multiple rows of the same database with different privileges will not be combined. For the same database, the most bottom row's respective privilege added will be assigned for the user.
