Deploy a Marketplace Application
2min
A Marketplace contains an inventory of available applications that can be installed with a script. The initial Manufacturing Connect Edge environment includes a Default Public Marketplace catalog.
You can deploy a Private Marketplace catalog so you can leverage existing custom applications. You can include custom applications that are under development and third-party applications in the Private Marketplace.
You can add multiple Private Marketplaces and each Private Marketplace can install multiple applications. The number of applications is limited only by the hardware size.
To review use cases for specific applications, see Applications Guides.
- You can add a private catalog from which you want to deploy the application. See Add a Marketplace Catalog for more information.
- For a Private marketplace, make sure you create a Docker image and add a Docker registry. See Create a Docker Image to Deploy to Your Private Repository and Add a Registry for more information.
- To access data from the application, it must be running on the same network as the Manufacturing Connect Edge device.
To deploy an application:
- Navigate to Applications > Marketplace. The Marketplace pane appears.
- Click the Marketplace List drop-down list and select a Marketplace catalog. The selected Marketplace appears, displaying its associated applications.
- Click an application tile. The selected application Launch dialog box appears.
- Click the Installation script version field, and then select a script version from the drop-down list.
- Enter a name and complete any applicable parameters for the application.
- A name for the incoming Docker container
- (If applicable) A number for the port. A number cannot be used if it’s already in use by another Docker container.
- Complete any applicable parameters by entering a respective value. For others, select a value from its respective drop-down list. These parameters will be passed as runtime variables to the respective Docker container.
- Click Launch.
