Discover Devices on the Network
You can discover devices on the network by navigating to DeviceHub > Device Discovery.
You can enable and disable discovery of devices that are connected to your network. Use Device Discovery to discover which nodes are for edge devices.
To enable device discovery, navigate to the Device Discovery pane and toggle the switch to ON from a selected Ethernet interface.
- When enabled, The Discovery mode table drops down for the selected Ethernet Interface.
- When disabled, The Discovery mode table collapses for the selected Ethernet Interface and the connection is dropped.
Note: The populated list includes a number of devices found and the last scanned indicator in the Ethernet interface header, indicating the last time the network was scanned.
Depending on the enterprise, Manufacturing Connect Edge may become lost among the thousands of devices in the private network. You can use Manufacturing Connect Edge with VGA/HDMI to discover devices.
If the system is running normal Manufacturing Connect Edge, it can be discovered using TUI (Terminal User Interface) access. Connect a monitor to the Manufacturing Connect Edge IPC and the terminal shows the IP address of the device. See Access the Terminal User Interface.
