Review the following information for setting up and configuring the Mitsubishi FX5U-Ethernet-Binary (Gen1) driver.

To set up and configure this device in Manufacturing Connect Edge, you will need to do the following:

  • Step 1: Set up and Configure the PLC Device
  • Step 2: Set up the PLC Device in Manufacturing Connect Edge DeviceHub
  • Step 3: Configure the List of Registers

Step 1: Set up and Configure the PLC Device

Note: Only one connection is allowed per port defined in the PLC. See the steps below to view and edit the open ports on the PLC.

If the device is configured for Ethernet access, find its network parameters. Otherwise, follow the steps below.

To configure your device:

  1. Note down the following information and refer to it when needed. Device: Mitsubishi FX5U Ethernet Binary FX5U-32M Communication I/F: Ethernet. Refer to the following figure.

  2. Launch GXWork3 V1.035M software, and then click Online > Read from PLC.

  3. Select the series.

  4. Select the connection destination.

  5. Double-click the PLC module icon, and click Find to browse the device on the network.

  6. From the Navigation panel, click Ethernet Port to set up communication parameters. Use Binary for this device.
  7. Double-click External Device Configuration.

  8. Set up the connections. In this case, port 4996 through 4999 are able to connect.
