Pub/Sub Settings
Note: This feature is available for Manufacturing Connect version 2.14.0 and later.
The Pub/Sub Settings tab allows you to manage key rotation in Pub/Sub connectors in edge devices. Each Pub/Sub connector uses a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Service Account (SA) key for authenticating to the cloud. You have the option to rotate keys automatically or manually. When automatic rotation is enabled, you can schedule a rotation interval and a time-of-the-week window to avoid disrupting production processes.
Important: Currently, this feature can only rotate the keys in Pub/Sub connectors that are automatically created by Manufacturing Connect during edge device activation. For any other Pub/Sub connectors, you need to manage the key rotation outside of this feature.
To access the Pub/Sub UI:
- Log in to Manufacturing Connect. The Status Overview pane displays.
- From the navigation panel, select General Settings. The General Settings pane displays.
- From the General Settings pane, select Pub/Sub Settings. The Pub/Sub Settings tab displays.
To enable automatic key rotation, click the toggle in the Rotation Policy section.
After clicking the toggle, configure the parameters for the key rotation.
- Interval, days: Enter the number of days for the lifetime of the key.
- Weekdays: Select the day of the week that key rotation is possible. You can select all days are possible for key rotation.
- Time UTC, 24h: Select the time of day (UTC time zone) that key rotation can start. You can select any time is possible to start key rotation.
- Window, hours: Enter the number of hours allowed for key rotation to complete.
When done configuring the policy, click Save.
You have the option of manually rotating individual keys and multiple keys at once.
To manually rotate an individual key, open the Action menu for a key and select Rotate Key.
To manually rotate multiple keys:
Click the Multiple Select icon.
Select the checkboxes for keys to rotate.
Click the Rotate selected keys icon.
